MetLife has planted its flag in the new sports stadium in New Jersey (formerly the Meadowlands). In addition to owning the name “MetLife Stadium”, they have invested in significant interactive display installations on all concourses within the complex. Working with SapientNitro, we helped develop a Snoopy-based interactive touch screen game that allowed all event attendees the chance to win prizes and (legally) bet on the outcome of each quarter of an upcoming game. Using RFID cards containing your personal information, attendees interact with a virtual “Zoltar” game, in which a turbined Snoopy deals cards, challenges you, laughs at your picks, and sometimes even falls asleep if you’re not on your game. The outcome of your game is a virtual bet on the actual football game’s outcome. If you’re on target with real life, you get goodies. Virtual meets reality.
